We've got a match!

Tuesday night my dad came over to watch the kids so that Sam and I could go have dinner with T. I was a little bit nervous just because I am shy and based on our previous phone conversations, it was pretty clear he is the same way. We are both excited about the process, but two shy strangers meeting for dinner can be a little awkward, so I was a bit on the nervous side. Luckily Sam doesn't have any of those shy bones, so he was a huge help. The guys started discussing baseball while I studied the menu and by the time I knew what I wanted to eat, conversation was flowing between all three of us.

Dinner was fabulous, the company was awesome and we all chatted for almost 2 hours. We talked about our childhood, where we grew up, previous relationships, our family dynamic, future plans, and a ton of other non-surrogacy related topics. Of course there was plenty of surrogacy talk as well, but it was nice to chat about a variety of things... it didn't feel like a business meeting. I went into the meeting with a few reservations. I can easily say that I have zero concerns at this point and I am excited to move forward in the process of helping T have his baby(babies?).

The next step is to schedule my medical and psychological screening. The medical screening takes place in San Diego so I will be headed there at some point in the next couple weeks. I'm currently waiting on a call from my surrogacy coordinator to let me know when my appointment will be, but it will be soon and I'm looking forward to it!
