Fingers Crossed!

I'm pretty sure my fingers have been crossed for the last several years now, but they are crossed extra tight this week! I think I have peed on about 37 sticks so far. It's becoming a serious addiction and I'm not sure how I'm going to break it. I don't go in for my blood test until Wednesday, but in the mean time I am remaining cautiously optimistic!! Check it outttttttt!!!!

Between these lines getting darker and darker by the day and my overwhelming nausea, we are all so hopeful and SO excited!!

I started testing earlier than this because I'm a maniac, but check out those lines. I had my first squinter at 3.75 Days Passed Transfer (DPT). Nobody else could see it but I could!!
And this beauty was taken this morning. Look at that line! These silly tests are like a drug, I can't get enough and long for the next one! haha

Los Angeles.... again!

Well, hubby and I just got back from LA where we basically spent the last 3 days hanging out in our hotel room eating. lol! Monday was our official transfer day and it went AWESOME. Aside from the doctor running a little behind schedule and me sitting in the waiting room with a totally overfull bladder for a really long time, it was perfection. The actual procedure takes like 5 minutes, which I find kind of comical. Some of us spend YEARS getting to this point, anticipating this very moment for what feels like an eternity and then it is over in a matter of minutes. Go figure!

I'm fairly superstitious so I made myself an entire outfit for the occasion and made sure to do everything that "they" say to do to increase the odds of the transfer working. But I mean, when the list includes stopping for french fries at McDonald's on the way back to the hotel, how could I not want to participate?

I've had these stork leggings hanging in my closet for SO long. I bought them during a previous match that I thought for sure was going to work out, but didn't. Are they perfect or what?

A was wanting to facetime since he couldn't be there in person, but the doctor wasn't a big fan of that idea so we took lots of photos for him instead!

All done! Quickest 5 minutes ever. There is officially a little Italian embryo in my uterus!

You probably have no idea what you're looking at. A didn't either when we sent it to him. haha!! But if you zoom in and look super closely, there's a bright white polka dot in the center of that yellow circle. That dot is a BABY!

Andddd, officially on bed rest, letting the superstitions do their thing!

Ouch!

I'm going to try my best to update this bad boy more regularly now that things are actually happening at a rate faster than a snail's pace. Yesterday afternoon I finally got the email saying blood work looked great and that we are ALL SET to transfer Monday! Hooooooly moly.

So, travel arrangements are being booked as we speak and last night I conquered my first PIO (Progesterone in oil) intramuscular injection like a champ. (THANK GOD my next door neighbor/friend/boutique owning bestie is also a nurse and is helping me out with these beasts!!) Assuming our little embryo baby makes him/her self comfy in my womb, these injections will continue daily for another 60 days or so.

Wish me luck because the needle is GIANT. I literally had two babies completely natural just to avoid the needles from the IV and epidural. lol! #ironic

Holy Moly!

Okay, so last time I updated I was once again a little sad about things not going quite as planned, but I'm here today with a BIG update. Are you ready for it? (sang in my best T Swift voice)

I have been on meds for a while now to get my uterine lining nice and fluffy and prepare my body for transfer. After several appointments to check my lining and blood, a quick trip to LA for a mock transfer and even more ultrasounds and blood draws, we were officially given the green light yesterday to transfer on MONDAY! Holy heck.

Last night I was sitting in the airport waiting to board my flight home and received an email from the clinic stating that we needed to repeat our latest blood work to double check my progesterone levels. I went and handled that nice and early this morning and am now waiting on those results, but assuming they are where they need to be, we are FIVE days out y'all! We are so dang close and crossing every toe and finger we can find that this will be IT! I should be starting my injections tonight (pray for me because needles are NOT my jam!) and hopefully come Monday we will be transferring a sweet little healthy embryo-baby into my uterus!

I think the best part of that quick trip was being able to meet up with these sweet gals. Staci is my surrogate coordinator at the agency and Amanda is my gal pal/fellow surro that I met at our Las Vegas retreat last year. She just delivered her surrobabe a few weeks ago and flew all the way from Minnesota to go with me to my appt! Having one last hoorah with these girls before things get super real didn't suck! <3
